As Christians and followers of Jesus Christ, it is very
important how we treat one another. In
John 13:34,35 (NKJV) it says, "34 A
new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you,
that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My
disciples, if you have love for one another.”
So the Lord Jesus here says that we are to love each other just as he
has loved us. That is a very tall
order. When you think of all that Jesus
did for us and for the ultimate sacrifice that he paid with his life to ransom
us from the power of darkness. It is
with this same love that we are to love our brothers and sisters in
Christ. Jesus further said here, that
this love that we have one for another, would be how others would recognize us
as believers and followers of Jesus Christ.
