Do we look for ways to be constructive in our relationships?

If we are trying to bring out the best of those people we are in relationship with, then we want to be constructive.  It says in 1 Corinthians 13:4 (J.B. Phillips New Testament) [Portion] "..it looks for a way of being constructive..."  In other words, love looks for a way to be constructive with the people we are in relationship with.  To be constructive means that we are serving someone.  It means that we are building up someone.  Being constructive also includes improving someone.  To be constructive as it is meant in this passage means that all of this is done is a positive way.  To serve to buildup or improve someone we are in relationship with is a manifestation of God's love through us to that person.

Foundation Text: (J.B. Phillips New Testament)

God wants us to honor civil authority

We know that all honor flows from God (1 Samuel 2:30).  The bible says that God has established civil authorities for our benefit.  Who are civil authorities?  We are talking about political leaders, policemen, firemen and et cetera.  Our Heavenly Father has provided for us these civil leaders to provide justice, safety and protection for the people.  So what is the reward of honoring civil authorities?  When we honor our civil authorities, it promotes the Kingdom of God's reputation in the community.  It says in Romans 13:1-7 (AMP) “13 Let every person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God’s appointment.  2 Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them].  3 For civil authorities are not a terror to [people of] good conduct, but to [those of] bad behavior. Would you have no dread of him who is in authority? Then do what is right and you will receive his approval and commendation.  4 For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, [you should dread him and] be afraid, for he does not bear and wear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant to execute His wrath (punishment, vengeance) on the wrongdoer.  5 Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God’s wrath and escape punishment, but also as a matter of principle and for the sake of conscience.  6 For this same reason you pay taxes, for [the civil authorities] are official servants under God, devoting themselves to attending to this very service.  7 Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.”

Do we honor God?

All honor flows from the throne of Grace.  All honor flows from the Heavenly Father. The Lord Jesus taught on this.  You can find his teaching in this area in Matthew 10:40-42 (ERV) “40 “Whoever accepts you also accepts me. And whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me. 41 Whoever accepts a prophet because he is a prophet will get the same reward a prophet gets. And whoever accepts a godly person just because that person is godly will get the same reward a godly person gets. 42 Whoever helps any of these little ones because they are my followers will definitely get a reward, even if they only give them a cup of cold water.””  So our ability to honor God flows down to his Servants and down to our Brothers and Sisters.  You see if we honor God, then we will honor our Pastor, Youth Leader, Childrens' Ministry Leader, our Brothers and Sisters and so on.  It is out of our honor for God that we honor those our Heavenly Father has given to lead us and to those whom we lead.

How can we tell if someone is going to be unfaithful?

The definition of unfaithfulness is someone who is not true to their promise; they are unreliable, untrustworthy, and dishonest.  You can also describe unfaithful people as faithless, fickle, disloyal and deceitful.  So how can we know that in a relationship if that person will be faithful to us?  The Lord Jesus explained this wonderfully in Luke 16:10 (AMP) "10 He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is faithful also in much, and he who is dishonest and unjust in a very little [thing] is dishonest and unjust also in much."  So there we have it from the Lord Jesus himself.  If someone is unfaithful in the little things associated with us in our relationship, it is a sign that they will be unfaithful in our relationship as it develops into a stronger bond.  To access our website click www.arms.cc
