Seeking God’s Will in Faith will Get Us Favor
When we know what God has instructed us to do, all we have
to do is to start to act on that. As we
start to act on what God has instructed us to do in faith, the grace of God
will show up and give us favor to move forward with the direction God has
placed in our heart. We think of the
story of Daniel in the Old Testament.
When he was taken captive in a foreign land, he wanted to stay faithful
to the teachings of God as it related to his diet. In order for Daniel to be faithful to God’s
guidance, our Heavenly Father provided favor for Daniel with the Chief of the
Eunuchs. It says in Daniel 1:8-10 (NKJV)
“8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the
portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore
he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. 9
Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the
eunuchs. 10 And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king,
who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking
worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my head
before the king.”” This Chief of the
Eunuchs ultimately gave Daniel the right to eat the diet that he wanted. Daniel received this favor in spite of the
person who gave it was putting his very own life in danger. That is the power of God’s favor.
